Made for the trade

Built for electricians.

Trained on the way UK electricians actually write up a job — panel upgrades, service calls, EV charger installs — not generic invoicing software.

Reads UK electrical terminology

Our AI reads your shorthand the way you write it on the job — service call fees, materials, permit notes — and turns it into clean, itemised invoice lines your customer can understand.

Panel upgrades & rewires
EV charger installs
Service call fees
After-hours rates
Permit & inspection notes
NICEIC/Part P reg. number

Handles permits & inspection notes

Got a permit number or inspection reference on your job sheet? Include it in your notes and it carries through to the invoice. Important for residential and commercial jobs where a paper trail matters.

Electrician invoice app UK

Why electricians don't need full accounting software.

Most full accounting platforms are built for businesses running payroll, multi-user teams, and bank reconciliation. If you're an electrician who just needs to invoice a job, that's a lot of software — and a lot of monthly cost — to do one thing.

What to include on a UK electrician invoice

A proper electrical invoice should always show your labour, materials, and the details customers and HMRC expect to see.

Labour (hours × rate)
Materials & parts used
Call-out fee
VAT (if registered)
Job description & site address
Invoice number & date

Common electrician invoice line items

Most electricians bill a mix of the same few line items on every job — TradieNotes' AI recognises each of these from your notes or voice recording.

Hourly labour rate
Parts & materials
Travel / call-out
Certification fees (NICEIC/Part P)

£1 per invoice vs. a monthly accounting subscription

Full accounting software typically runs £14–£36 a month — £168 to £432 a year — whether you send one invoice or a hundred. TradieNotes charges £1 only when you actually invoice a job.

5 invoices/mo — £10 on TradieNotes vs £14–£36/mo subscription
10 invoices/mo — £20 on TradieNotes vs £14–£36/mo subscription
20 invoices/mo — £40 on TradieNotes vs £14–£36/mo subscription
Electrician FAQ

Questions, answered.

Can it handle service call fees and after-hours rates?
Yes. Note your service call fee or after-hours rate in your job notes or speak it aloud — the AI extracts it as a separate labour line item on the invoice.
Can I include my NICEIC or Part P registration number?
Yes. Write your registration number (NICEIC, NAPIT, or other competent person scheme) in your job notes and it will appear on the invoice. Recommended for commercial, insurance, and building-control jobs.
Does it work for EV charger installs and panel upgrades?
Absolutely. EV charger installs, panel upgrades, whole-home rewires, service calls — any electrical job. The AI extracts labour and materials the same way regardless of job type.
How do I handle VAT on electrical invoices?
Most sole trader electricians are below the £90,000 VAT registration threshold and don't charge VAT at all. Not VAT registered? Leave the VAT number blank and no VAT is added. Registered? Add your VAT number and VAT at the standard 20% rate is worked out for you.
Do I need to sign up?
No account needed. Create one free to save your invoice history, or just snap your job notes and pay £1.
